Sacha has undertaken dozens of jury trials in the District Court and High Court, including trials involving murder, serious violence, sexual violation, sexual offending against children, complex spree offending, and serious drug offending. She has considerable experience doing appeals in both the High Court and Court of Appeal, as well as experience with regulatory prosecutions involving a number of different government departments.

Sacha also has particular expertise in the Youth Court. She has undertaken a significant number of cases involving children and young people, often involving complex jurisdictional issues, or issues regarding fitness to stand trial or care and protection.

After two years clerking for the Principal Youth Court Judge, Sacha joined the Manukau Crown Solicitor’s office in February 2016. After six years as a Crown prosecutor, Sacha joined the Independent Bar in February 2022 and has continued to regularly appear in the District and High Courts. 

 

Sacha can be instructed privately and is also approved to undertake Legal Aid criminal assignments, as well as criminal appeals in the Court of Appeal or Supreme Court. She is a Court-appointed Youth Advocate.
